Filling Form W-9 Here
- Tap Open the official Form W-9 above. It opens a copy of the March 2024 file from irs.gov, checked against irs.gov on October 31, 2026. A copy you already have opens with Choose a PDF.
- All 23 fields are on page 1: your name and business name, seven check boxes for the federal tax classification, exemption codes, address, and the requester's name and address.
- The taxpayer identification number goes into small boxes: a Social Security number as 3, 2 and 4 digits, or an employer identification number as 2 and 7 digits. Each box takes only that many digits.
- Part II has no field for the signature. Tap Signature and Date and drag them onto the Sign Here line.
- Create the PDF with Flatten on and download it.
The form itself says: give it to the requester, do not send it to the IRS. Whether the requester accepts an electronically signed W-9 is up to them. This page does not check your TIN or give tax advice.
